FARM and RURAL LIFESTYLE PROPERTIES

Land and Barn

Few farmettes have the unique combination of features which the Peachy farmette offers. A newer, Amish built home, a barn with newer upper structure, significant frontage on an stocked trout stream, and productive tillable and pastures wrapped up in a small package.

The bank barn is a traditional two- story structure measuring 37′ x 80′. The lower level has six horse stalls, several pens for other livestock, and storage areas.  The upper level was constructed in 1993 on the original barn foundation. All of the upper level side walls are insulated, and a  37′ x 47′ area of the upper level had been used for a store. Skylights give natural lighting in this upstairs portion.

The land’s primary soil types on this farm are Chargrin soils, Hagerstown silt loam, Melvin Silt loam, and Nolin Silt loam. These are productive soils and lay very nicely.  This property has about 1,000 feet of frontage on Little Fishing Creek, a local stocked trout stream.  A significant portion of this land, because of this stream is in the 100 year floodplain. (See aerial photo). The buildings are not in the floodplain.
